NC-DEC
The purpose of the North Carolina Division for Early Childhood (NC-DEC) is to promote policies and advance evidence-based practices that support families and enhance the optimal development of young children (0-8) who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities. NC DEC is a state subdivision which supports the international DEC membership organization for those who work with or on behalf of young children (0-8) with disabilities and other special needs and their families.
Our Background
Since being established in 2020, North Carolina Council for Exceptional Children's Division for Early Childhood (NC-DEC) has been working to meet the needs of North Carolina's young children with disabilities and their families and those serving young children with disabilities and their families.
